Panama affair. Intriguing intrigue. Elegant.
Lovers and spies, coffee and rum, a warm breath that wraps you up and then some.
Under the sun of the strait, the horizon widens.
Look at me, I have a secret.
Look at me, this is life.
Panama Affair is a nighttime escape to the Tropics, where colonial luxury meets vice. It's the scent of a Havana-style bar on the top floor of a hotel in Panama City: coffee warming next to whisky, the sweet smoke of elemi, caramelised dates left on the counter.
But it's also the scent of a clandestine affair. Two strangers who recognise each other by the tastes they share, amber rum poured slowly, dark chocolate melting, warm wood that smells of the unsaid.
The opening is dense right away, built on the contrast between coffee cream and peaty whisky, softened by toffee and by the fruity, balsamic note of davana. As it develops, the heart darkens: dark chocolate and roasted coffee take over, held up by amberwood and the liqueur-like trail of rum. On the base, vanilla turns as indulgent as a milkshake, while benzoin, ambergris, sandalwood and honey build a warm base that lingers on the skin.
It's a unisex fragrance, opulent, unashamedly gourmand, made for the evening. A scent for accomplices, not innocents.
